Our Team

For owner Renee, Frontiers Boutique is really a dream come true.  Being a lifelong lover of all things western, and a lifelong lover of all things history, she was able to bring the two together in this setting.  Restoring the second floor of the historic Schintgen Building at 225 3rd St. was a labor of love for Renee and her family.

Renee comes to the boutique industry after spending nearly 20 years as a Registered Nurse and helping her husband, Rick, behind the scenes at their other business Family Medical Supply and CPAP Store (she will continue in both of these roles in her "spare" time).

When she isn't working, Renee can be found enjoying her 3 children, 2 dogs, 5 horses, 3 barn cats, and 3 chickens on their farm outside of La Crescent, MN.  Raising children in a house full of hockey players and a horse crazy cowgirl, Renee has spent many hours cheering from the stands at a hockey game and driving the horse trailer to a horse show or rodeo.  Once in a while, Renee finds time to ride her own horse, Eddie.
Ashtin  (horse crazy cowgirl mentioned above) is a 2021 graduate of La Crescent High School.  She will be balancing being Renee's main assistant in running Frontiers Boutique with attending college in the fall at St. Mary's University in Winona, MN, keeping up with an active barrel racing schedule, and training horses.  For Ashtin, western style is simply a way of life.  You will find her wearing the brands we carry every day of her life, whether it's in the barrel racing arena or just hanging out with friends.  She has played an active role in the building restoration process, merchandise selection, and social media presence.

In her spare time, Ashtin is riding and training horses daily, as well as giving riding lessons. She also enjoys hockey and cuddling with her dogs Crosby and Poppy.

She loves life on the road and dreams of living in a tiny house.
